Accutech Security is proud to be exhibiting at the 64th annual American Health Care Association & National Center for Assisted Living convention and expo in Phoenix, AZ October 6th through the 9th in booth 309. The American Health Care Association represents more than 11,000 nursing facility, assisted living, developmentally-disabled, and subacute care providers that care for approximately one million elderly and disabled individuals each day. It is a great chance for us to meet with owners, administrators, directors of nursing, clinical supervisors, and other professionals from nearly every long-term care sector including skilled nursing, assisted living and continuing care, and retirement communities. Understanding their evolving needs is critical to making sure we remain the most trusted name in RFID security.

As a leading manufacturer of perimeter-based, RFID-enabled products to ensure the security of residents at risk of wandering in hospital and senior living settings, Accutech is at the forefront of providing reliable, safe, and respectful solutions. Our ResidentGuard wander management systems give Alzheimer’s, dementia and other “at-risk” residents the ability to move freely about their facilities while receiving the protection they—and their families—need. Using advanced RFID technology, these perimeter-based wander management systems aid a facility’s staff and enable them to direct their energies toward other tasks.

The rate of people suffering from Alzheimer’s in the United States is expected to almost triple by the year 2050–from 5 million currently to about 13.8 million. The threat of this staggering increase means that a tremendous amount of research in Alzheimer’s is currently taking place and a great deal of attention is being paid to how we care for aging members of our society who need some kind of skilled care. While recent studies seem to hold promise for understanding what causes dementia and Alzheimer’s and steps that can be taken to prevent them, a cure still remains elusive. As the recent PBS Frontline expose on assisted living demonstrated, there is an immediate need to define and regulate different levels of care and properly train the millions of people needed to care for this population now and in the future. Organizations like AHCA and NCAL will be instrumental in this effort.

Accutech’s ResidentGuard wander management systems will continue to offer a secure environment for residents at a lower total cost of ownership to the facilities that care for them with features like free 24-hour technical support and automated staff notification, integration with existing security systems and easy expandability. Protection and support you can rely on no matter what your needs are - that is how Accutech Security continues to build trust with the people who need us most.
